For those of you still looking for apparel, let me just worn you of one thing before ordering from a certain shop. Always check that the shop has not cut the labels out of their dresses. No kidding! Places do it. Visit the Bridal Suite of Patchogue if you don't believe me. They wouldn't even TELL me the designer of the dresses. This practice not only makes the customers untrustful of the place but it's also illegal. They do this so that you can't go shopping around for a dress that you liked but at a better price.

I also experienced this at quite a few shops...when I asked at one shop why there was no label on the dress I was told that it came in that way. When I asked to find out the manufacturer, they told me they could only tell me after I left a deposit on the dress...another gave me the wrong designer....Give me a break!!!

Unfortunately, there's not too many ways around the 'missing label' issue. In fairness to the bridal shops, they don't want to lose your business, and Long Island happens to be a very, very competitive market for weddings. Choose wisely and scour the bridal magazines. You are bound to find a picture of your dress - especially on the Internet, since most designers have Web sites now.
