a TMI post...sorry

Ok when i was in HS my OB-GYN put me on BCP to control Aunt Flo bc she was all over the place...showing up randomly, totally unpredictable, very heavy....it was a nightmare. the BCP worked, but i stayed on them for about 8 years and i just started to feel like they were building up in my system and making me an emotional wreck. I switched brands, but it never really made a difference so I came off of them all together. Well today it is sooooooooooooooooo effing bad!!!!!! I can't even get up!!!!!! I was in bed until 7 then i went to my friends for bday cake and it was a total mistake......i should've just stayed home. Now I am completely hemorrhaging...i'm dizzy, i'm in pain and miserable. I am fed up with this!!!!!!!!!! Now that i moved to NJ i am switching all of my doctors. I called my regular, but his office was closed (the one on LI) so the earliest appt i can get out here is next week
I wish i could have my ovaries removed and replaced when i want kids anyone else have .'s from hell????

Awwwww Im so sorry!! I know how bad a period can get. My mother used to find me on the bathroom floor crying when I was younger. As much as you hate being on BC maybe you should just stick with it until youre ready to have kids so you dont have to go through this again!

mine wasnt so bad when i was younger, but for some reason it's getting worse these days (maybe b/c of stress?) i never used to get cramps, but now i am.. really bad ones so im suffering too.. i def. agree to keep on the BCP until your ready for kids so your body doesnt have to readjust to this cap

Awww
Mine is really awful too but not that bad.

Have you thought about the shots instead? My friend's daughter is on them and she goes every three months.

I only get it MAYBE 3 times a year- if I'm lucky. When I do get it- it *****, but it's not too bad. I hope you feel better

When I go off the pill, I get horrible cramps too. If you changed pills, sometimes it takes a couple of months for your body to get used to it, which is prob why your period was so heavy the first month of a new pill (I switched recently too, and it took 2 or 3 months before it was okay).

Get a heating pad, take some something for the cramps and lay down if you can. Feel better

Have you ever been tested for PCOS? Poly-cystic ovarian syndrome? I have it and it's horrible. BAD cramps, HEAVY FLO..very irregular..BCP helps some, but I'm going to an endocronologist (sp?) to see if there's anything else they can do. It's a hormonal imbalance that effects they way your body metabolizes sugar..they think it's linked to diabetes. There are tons of other symtoms (inability to lose weight easily, excess hair growth, male pattern baldness & others)...if you have any of them...you should get tested.

Otherwise, feel better!!! I know your pain. It really S*cks being a girl!!

'09er crashing: Have you ever been checked for endometriosis? I was misdiagnosed for a long time, but my symptoms were similar to yours. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Oh wow, that's terrible! I'm very irregular too and I had to go on the pill to regulate it but I don't have heavy bleeding like that, sorry I can't help!

My friend just went off her pill also and said she forgot how bad her period was before the pill. I'm not looking forward to that day, when I start trying for kids!

I hope you feel better soon!!

I was going to say the same thing- I too have PCOS and remember my cramps being extremely bad before I was put on BC and metformin.... theres not just one symptom that goes with PCOS the bloodwork and the physical symptoms have to match up but you could always mention it to your GYNO and see what he/she says....Once its under control its fine!
