Ugh. This search for a DJ is becoming a chore and I've barely even started. I never thought there'd be an aspect of the wedding planning I didn't like!! But I knew this would be the hardest for me.
All the DJs on my list are out in East Bumblef@#$. (no offense to anyone who actually lives in East Bumblef@#$) What a pain. And it's not like a photographer or a florist where you can just SEE their work and either you like it or you don't.
Bleh. Just thought I'd whine and complain a bit. Feel free to whine and complain here too.

I AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING!!!! and I am disgusted. I am having such trouble with finding a DJ that I am just so frustrated. They r either all the way out on the end of the island or they r not returing my calls.

The DJ company we used was one DH had seen at a couple of parties and was recommended by two friends. So this was the only vendor we didn't shop around for. Thank god, as I was sitting there watching some chopped wedding video I was both mortified and grateful that I won't have to look at another one.

Thanks girls - at least I know I am not alone! I wish I could just go by a DJ that someone I know has used but I honestly haven't been to a wedding/party that had a DJ I liked except for one. And that company split up and the DJ I would have used left and I have no idea where to find him. *sigh*

Me too! I've been to 3 weddings in the past year and a half and I didn't like any of the DJs.

I went through the same thing and then some and our DJ finally was out in EastBUmble&%$^ LOL that was the only dicouraging thing bit I am happy But I never went to a wedding they did but mine was recommended by My FSIL who was at a wedding and she loved them then her friend Kate liked and booked that night then I booked and he gave me $500.00 of because I was referred 2X that was pretty cool. GOOD LUCK

i cant wait to be done with it too....... there are a few here in nassau...
mineola- inthe mix and starlight express... theres another in malverne... look on the vendors page and you can see where some nassau ones are
edited to say... if your going to bumbleF.... alot of girls really like Music by Michael... perhaps youll only have to check out one company than

I traveled to East Bumblef@#$ to meet with my DJ and I am so glad I did. I booked Music by Michael in Mt. Sinai. He is by far the best out of all the DJs I met with and he was the only that wasn't totally guido!

Exactly where is out east bumble@#%* anyway??? I booked In the Mix, i thought they were awesome. I saw them at my friends wedding in May and knew i wanted them. I didn't bother to look around.

My DJ is located in Brooklyn. I don't know if that counts as West bumble@#$% but here's his info. I happen to know him personally for 100 years but besides that, they have a reputation of being the best of the best. Classie Sounds
