A WORD TO ALL THE GIRLS WHO HAVENT HAD THEIR DAY COME YET (LONG)

I had a TERRIBLE a.m. the day of the wedding. My mom came charging into my suite singing some corny good morning chant and barged into my bedroom yelling 'YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED TODAY' .. she was SO excited .. sweet right?

No - it wasn't. I started crying immediately ... Imagine, first thing you do on the a.m. of your wedding is cry?!? I was SO SO SO nervous. I HATE being the center of attention and I let all this anxiety build up so much that I was a MESS the a.m. of. I tried drinking some mimosas, nothing helped. I had my hair done and HATED it .. had my makeup done and HATED it. I made her do it over three times. I felt so ugly and overwhelmed - I didn't even want anyone talking to me. It got so bad that my mother in law came over and was like honey - enjoy this time, dont let anything ruin this time for you. Just try to relax .. blah blah blah - nothing helped.

I finally was okay with my makeup - I fixed it myself and I decided that nothing was working with my hair - so I just wore it down.

I spent so much time worrying, crying and not enjoying myself that I ended up losing so much time. I only had an hour of pictures then had to be rushed back into my bridal suite because guests started to arrive.

As my bridal party were walking down the aisle - I was standing in the back with my bridal attendent CRYING! They were fanning me with tissues so my makeup wouldn't run. I WAS A NERVOUS MESS ..

Then - it was my time to walk. The music changed I took a few deep breaths and started walking, SLOW. As soon as I saw Bryan, it all went away. No joke and it sounds SO cliche but the anxiety, the crying, the nerves .. it all disappeared and I had the most AMAZING ceremony - I enjoyed every second. I let out a big yell like (woo!) after my vows were said and I stopped the officiant so I can hug Bryan when I was done with them (we wrote our own and they were LONG). I was very emotional but didnt cry at all during the ceremony. I let out another big WOOO after our first kiss haha.

SO - my word of advice - It's more the anticipation of everything. Once you're in it you will LOVE IT - so try to enjoy EVERY SECOND. and yes - its much easier said than done but dont freak out like I did. I regret not hanging w/my girls more the a.m. of. I was too nervous to even hang out with anyone.

This is exactly what I'm worried about!!! I think maybe you should have had harder liquor than a mimosa!

I'm glad you got over your anxiety because you were an absolutely stunning bride! I couldn't tell for anything that you were upset/nervous!

I'll remember this post the morning of when I freak out (or rather the night before when I won't be able to sleep!)

Honestly, you were absolutely stunning and you looked like you were on cloud 9 the entire time. I had no idea that you were event remotely nervous.

and just to add for other girls -- only be surrounded by what you can handle in the morning!!!!!

at first, i was gonna have all the girls w me to get hair and makeup done. i wanted to have fun and gossip and laugh (ya know, like you see in other wedding videos)...but as the days got closer, the more i thought about it, i just saw STRESSSS

so i found a nearby salon that could handle my bridal party. so they all went there to get ready, while my hair/MU person came to me

i didnt want to be alone the night b4 my wedding cuz i thought that would be boring, so i invited my MOH to stay with me. she is good at keeping things in perspective. and one of my gooood BMs from OOT was also in the hotel.

just do what you can handle. and dont do anything that you think you 'should' do for any other reason. remember its your day - and when you look back at pics, you want to be HAPPY -- not think 'omg, that pic was right after so-and-so was bothering me'

OMG Carey so sorry u were going thru that. from the pix I saw I loved everything! ur hair, m/u, the perfect dress, ur gorgeous set up for the room and most importantly how happy u both looked!

for me actually the morning was so relaxed that the 1st thing my hair girl said to me was 'goodnes, ur the most laid back bride ever!'. but that only lasted until ppl started being total flakes and losing sight of the timeline I gave everyone. the pictures time was the best time as we were almost alone and were having so much fun.
I did completely lose it a few moments before the ceremony waiting to go in - I started shaking uncontrollably my mom had to pinch me and threatened to slap me

I am glad you were ablet oget over yoru nerves! I am worried about that too!!! that's great that your enjoyed your day!!! I will take this advice with me!

thank you so much for sharing - i'm so sorry to hear that your morning started out that way, but since i posted about not knowing how to control my nerves, it helps to hear from another bride who has JUST gone through it. i'm so glad that your day turned around!
