I'm here. It has been a pretty hectic couple of weeks. We have chosen our invites and I have been looking for a caligrapher. We put down the 2nd deposit on our reception. Now we need to look for limos.

Alixigirl....I was thinking of the calligraphers also but I remain undecided....I understand etiquette says you're to hand address your invites...I hate writing, so I guess it will be the calligrapher....

chris & james - congrats!

Got my invites out, everyone loves them (did them on the computer, btw, with a nice font)

Drama with the bridal shower, hopefully it will work out

Meeting with officiants soon, florists soon, Jazz Trio and Videographer soon.

Have to draw up a must take photo list.

Praying that my sweetie's passport comes through on time.

I'm just going to share what an idiot I feel like. It took me 2 days to figure out you meant African American. For the last two days I thought you were asking for Alcoholics Anonymous brides which I thought was very odd. I'm actually cracking up thinking about this now. I had to share.

That's funny! I am new to the post and I am African American, but I was stumped momentarily as well.

Re: AA Brides - Where are you ladies?

chris& james nice invite did you do it yourself...i ordered mine...I'm acting liking one of those stepford wives everything has to coordinate...i'm too lazy to do anything by self really...i found an invite that had all of the matching items....so you know i had to pay for it in the end $$$

Re: AA Brides - Where are you ladies?

Hello ladies,

I am so behind on my invites. I hope to order them by Wednesday.

I finished our newsletter for OOT guests this weekend. Got to get the copied at kinkos and FMIL said she will fold and put the labels on them to have them out by Wednesday.

FH and I finally finished registering on Sat. We are now officially registered at Bloomies and Target.

I just ordered some CD covers from Ebay that I plan to have double as our wedding programs.

Re: AA Brides - Where are you ladies?

Here's an article on how a bride made themWedding CD/Program Article

FH and I still haven't finalized the list yet. But we will probably put some of our favorite songs.

Our theme is gonna be 'Love is so amazing' and for our first dance we are using 'So Amazing' by Luther Vandross.

Here are the songs that I definitely want
* If you say my eyes are beautiful - Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson
* More than words - Extreme
* If this world were mine - Luther Vandross
* Let's stay together - Al Jarreau
* You - Jesse Powell
* From now on - Regina Bell

Please share what you are thinking of using

Re: AA Brides - Where are you ladies?

wow my list is extensive i have music from beginning to end we are basically starting off in 2001 because that is when we met and started dating...

our dance is Alicia Keys - If I Ain't Got You
intro of bp - jazz remix of R Kelly's song
our intro - M Jackson (w/Chris Tucker) song You rock My World (1st song we ever danced to)
parents dance - jazz piece
last dance - We Are Family (soul train line)

I'm bad with songs I have a list compiled for my dj already

PS thanks for article

Think we got the major things out of the way.
Still debating about the Limos and favors.
Any recommendations?
