Tell me if you think this is annoying....... My FH's parents recently moved upstate (not too far), but now this is presenting a problem. On the day of the wedding, they have nowhere to go in between the church and the reception. So my FMIL asks FH if her family can go to our not-so-big apartment and wait there. My parents will already have a huge crowd at their house, so they can't go there. I just think this is kind of invasive, given the stress that i am, and will be under...especially on that day!!! i don't want to have to worry about having to clean the house that week too!! and of course, FH thinks his mom is always right!!!!! what should i do???? (sorry so long)

Re: AARRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have two options for you.
1. Rent a hotel room for them. Ask the hotel to provide ice tea and some light snacks.
2. Have a cleaning service come in to you apartment during your ceremony. That way you won't have to clean it.
I agree that it is awkward for people to be in your apartment on your wedding day -- but it isn't worth fighting about.

Re: AARRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe they can get a hotel room (or you can get one for them if your budget fits)and they can stay over night after the wedding? That way they don't just get the room for the few hours in between.

Edited because you said they can't go to your parents house. What about a nice bar in the area? Yea, I would definitely hire a cleaning crew.

Re: AARRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
While VERY annoying, this is your future husband's mom who's coming from out of town to be there. It could be a lot worse. If you can't clean yourself, hire someone like the girls have suggested. I think making the FMIL happy for a few hours is worth it!
If it makes you feel better, I not only had to go get my dad and his family from the airport the DAY BEFORE my wedding, but I had to check them in to their hotel and order dinner for them. Then the hotel messed up their reservation and they had to check out, so they had to stay at my apartment (my dad, his wife, daughter and her daughter) while my mom and sister were there as well. Full house much? Now that was annoying and awkward, but it's over now!

how long do you have between the ceremony and the reception? Remember, you will be taking family pictures, which will take a long time.

Is she staying over somewhere the night of the wedding? Wouldn't they be checking into a hotel early anyway, to get changed?
