Anybody have any experience (personal or otherwise) with Abigail Kirsch catering? Do you have any idea what their deposit policy is like? TIA

I have been to Tappan Hill, one of the venues they cater for. The food was excellent. Does she cater anywhere on LI?

I don't know if the catering outfit does parties on LI, but I'm looking at a couple of the venues that have exclusive catering contracts with them. It's sort of a long story, but I'm kind of starting from scratch in terms of wedding planning. FI and I were trying to plan a Dallas wedding, but tickets from NY-DFW are getting too expensive for us to expect our family to come all the way to Dallas. So, back to the old drawing board

I went to a wedding at the Lighthouse in Chelsea Piers that she catered, and it was fantastic! The food was very good.

I went to a wedding she catered at the botanical garden and the food was fantastic. It was very original and had a lot of interesting combos and offerings.

I have no idea about the deposit policy but the food is AMAZING! I went to a reception they catered last year and FH is still talking about the food!

I have been there, too. It's beautiful and the food is great.
Doesn't Abigal Kirsh also do the catering at Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, too?

I had my wedding at the Snuff Mill on the grounds at the Bronx botanical gardens which is a Abigail Kirsch venue. This was a while ago and I can't locate all the paperwork, but I think it was an inital $2500 when we booked the date. Then we made 2 more payments. All of this equaled 50% of our estimated total. We payed for the other 50% at our final meeting the week of our wedding.
I can't speak highly enough about our experience with Abigail Kirsch. OUr wedding flowed beautifully and the food was AMAZING. People still comment about it almost 2 yrs. later.

Thanks guys for all of the great (and glowing) responses! I got a response from one of their reps in terms of the deposit policy and they are asking for 25% of estimated total. Maybe since it's so early, they'll let me pay that over time? I can't imagine dropping THAT much money all at once. I'm still a student for crying out loud!
