? about BM shoes

? about BM shoes

I finally got together with all 8 BM's yesterday to order the dresses and sooo many of them had different opinions with what shoes they wanted. Some want open-toed and some want closed shoes Did you ladies give them a choice or did you just tell them what shoes you wanted them to wear?? Will it look funny if some have open and some have closed. I think it will look dumb but I may be wrong. Help

Re: ? about BM shoes

This is what I'm doing K.
I decided I had NO patience for shoes, so all I decided was that they would all get dyeables the color of their dress, and that they would choose the luxe material, not the satin. As long as they keep to that they can choose any style they want.

I decided to go this way b/c
1. their shoes won't show too much, as long as color/material matches, it will look nice
2. Comfort is a big deal, and the same shoe won't be comfortable on everyone.

My girls are all satisfied w/this. BUT only you know how much it will bother you for them to have different shoes. I know it won't bother me at all, as long as they meet my requirements.

I told them to get whatever they wanted....they had black dresses so I suggested they use something they already had in their closet BUT they wanted to all match so they went and bought new shoes.

My only condition: If you they get open toe, you can not wear pantyhose!!

Re: ? about BM shoes

I was in a wedding, and the bride told me to get whatever shoes I wanted. I bought little strappy sandals, everyone else bought closed toed, and she was ****ed. But she didn't tell me!
I don't care what shoes my bm's wear.

My only condition is that they get satin shoes in the silver color to match their dress. I don't care what style (open or not, strappy or not). Although, now that i read Sonicstef's post, i am thinking i should say NO pantyhose with open toed shoes!

I don't think it would look funny if they have different shoes and some are open. NO ONE will notice and your BMs will thank you if they can get shoes they like and that are comfortable for them!

I've requested my BM's have their shoes match the dress as for the style..I just want them to be comfortable.

Ugghh, I think open toed shoes w/ pantyhoses should be a crime

Thanks for all the ideas ladies. I think I will do just that. Same color but they can pick it out themselves. Thanks for the great ideas!!!!

Liz- Sorry, I wasn't home. I've been in and out all day. Email me

Re: ? about BM shoes

I was in a wedding where the bride let us decide what shoes to wear...I bought dyeables to match the dress and the other two wore, IMHO the UGLIEST things on their feet that they could find...one had strappy silver sandals that were just ugly - even uglier in October w/o stockings and her feet were really pale...maybe I just didn't like her feet. The other wore this silver/gray colored, fabric shoe that didn't even go w/ the cranberry dresses we wore. Long story short, it probably bothered me more than the bride, but they wore ugly shoes.

I'd give your bp guidelines to follow and then let them take it from there.

It doesn't matter to me what they get, as long as they match and are comfortable!

liz, did you have all your girls send their shoes TOGETHER to get dyed (so they are in the same 'dye lot'). i'm thinking i will most likely do the same thing as you but just not sure how the whole process actually takes place.
thanks :)

Re: ? about BM shoes

Miro, some of mine will be in the same lot, what the store (Bridal Shoe Boutique) does is they don't dye them until all the girls have brought in their shoes. And they want the swatch of the dress AFTER it comes in, not from a sample to make sure the color's the same.

Unfortunately, the out of town girls will get their shoes separately, so I'm hoping that since the dresses were ordered together, that it won't make a difference, b/c the swatch s/b the same.

I'd let them pick the shoes they want.
My girls will be in all different dresses, therefore, they can pick their own shoes as well

My only request was to get satin shoes and have them dyed to match the color of the dress. They can get open or closed toe. Up to them! If open toe, no stockings, and no funky polish. Is that asking too much?
