? about DIY Pocketfolds

I've been going crazy pricing out Pocketfold invites. FH is also looking into these but it seems soooo expensive (about $10 an invite) For the girls that are doing them how are you keeping costs down? are you keeping costs down? FH got a quote of $1600 for 150 invites!!! That's insane! Do you mind telling me how much its costing you? FM if you'd like.
TIA!!!

well it will be less expensive if you have someone do them for you. I got 100 pocketfold invites for a little over 400! I used Pippy's Sweets

i did half DIY. i purchased the pocketfolders from cardsandpockets.com - I HIGHLY recommend them. i worked with Becky and she customized the pocketfolders for me and in the end they still only cost around $2 per folder (there was also a flat fee for customizing i forget what it is though).
anyway i ordered my invites from a seperate vendor and i have been assembling everything myself. they are still rather expensive cause i did letterpress invites, RSVPs and belly bands - but if you use a cheaper printing method you can prob save a lot of money if you are willing to put the time in to assembling them cause it takes FOREVER!!

Cards and Pockets .com has a really nice pocketfold and you can choose plain or matallic colors. It's very inexpensive and you just have to type the invitation yourself on the cards they send you. I ordered the sample and that what we are going to do.

I bought a laser printer and my costs were only like 700 with that! But I needed the printer with other stuff. Without around 350 I would say.

pocketfolds can be expensive. mine were half DIY. i got everything printed up at a printer and ordered the pocketfolds from cardsandpockets.com. i assembled everything myself (there's a thread on them floating around here ) but they cost me about $600. i was quoted at $2000 for 125 envelopement pocketfolds.

Envelopments were $2 each for the pocketfold itself, and 14 cents for the clear envelopes. Everything else we printed on regular cardstock from Staples ($11/250 sheets). Then we bought 60 yards of ribbon. After postage, it's about $500 for 130 invites.

Girl, when you are on a budget you learn to make it work!!!! FH is a graphic designer so we saved a lot of $$$ on the invites, menus, programs, etc. We went to paper presentations in the city to purchase the pocketfolds (they give you a bulk discount for larger purchases like they do on their website), we bought the outers from envelopemall, the seals and ribbon from ebay (250 yards for $10 bucks including shipping), we are doing RSVP postcards instead of the traditional RSVP's (saved a lot of $$$ on return postage), not to mention that more than half of our invites are getting hand delivered, which also saved us a lot of $$$ on postage. I will try to post pics later.
