? about pocket fold invitations

For those of you that did pocket fold invitations you didn't use an inner envelope too did you? If you didn't... did you just address the outside envelope .... Mr. John Doe and Guest

Also.... if you put a monogram on the outside of the invitation by the flap... do you only glue the side of the monogram to the flap part or did you glue the whole thing? I was thinking if the whole thing was glued they would have to rip it to open the invitation. I might still use ribbon but I haven't decided for sure yet. I have to get ribbon that I like and play around with it. I will show pictures when I am all done.

No inner envelope. It is considered a envelope the pocketfold except you can't do the formal names on it so outter envelope gets Mr. and Mrs. John Doe or The John Doe Family (some people do the entire list of names so you might want to do that). The Monogram is being glued to the flap that closes it but not the ENTIRE pocket fold because they guest would destroy it when opened.

They have some sticky stuff like goo that you put on it like you get in the mail that doesn't make it rip but then you have this snail/icky glue sitting on it. You can use a slide of paper around it so the guest slides the paper off to open it or use ribbons if it bothers you not having a seal.

I did not use an inner envelope for the reasons mentioned above. For my monogram, I taped /glued (with that roll adhesive stuff) the monogram to the top part of the pocketfold and I used a repositional glue dot (they sell it in acmoore) to open it b/c the repositional ones can be moved around! FM me if u want more info. This is what it looked like on the outside!

I printed the guest's names on bellybands...using paper and cut it to 1/2' and wrapped it around and glued it to itself...then glued our logo design on top to hide the seam...HTH...more pics of invites in DIY album

were not doing an inner envelope and as for my mongramed to close it, its a sticker. I'm sure it will destroy it, but in the spot.. but no one keeps them anyway

So how did the guests open them? Did they slide the paper off of the invite? They are beautiful by the way!!!

thanks...the guests had to rip the paper...many said they didn't want to open them & 'ruin' them...i guess they could've removed the square tag & then just slid off the bellyband too...i just wanted to reinforce who all was invited with the names on the inside

I actually did use an inner envelope. It gave a formal look (that was what I was going for) I addressed the Mr. and Mrs. John Smith or
Mr. John Smith and Guest.
