Do we invite our God-parents to the RD?

(Neither have been asked to do a reading)

Oh and also, are we supposed to invite the out of town guests invuited to the wedding also?

I will be inviting out of town guests, I feel that if they make the trip....I want them their as much as they deserve to be there. We will only invite our godparents if they are involved in the wedding mass...which we haven't decided yet.

Hmm, I don't know about God parents that are not actually involved in the ceremony. I probably would not invite them.

As for OOT guests, technically you are supposed to invite them. However, I always say that if it's going to be like 30 extra guests then I would just do bridal party and immediate families. I mean, you're having a big wedding the next day! But that's just me.

We're probably having, at most, 5 OOT guests and they will be invited to my RD. They are my aunt and her family

Am i wrong for not inviting OOT guests? We are having a luncheon the day before and I wanted to keep it small with just the bridal party and those involved in the ceremony

my godfather was invited because his son was the ring bearer- otherwise he would not have been... I am not close with either of my godparents

No.

Our RD would cost as much as the wedding if we had to do that. Almost all of our guests are from OOT. We're having the dinner for the BP and family ONLY. I want it to be an intimate party with only those closest to us there... Of course, we're at 40 with just family and the BP!

Re: ? about rehersal dinner

I went to a few weddings where they had the rehearsal dinner with only those involved, then invited people to meet for an informal get-together at a restaurant/bar after. We did this for our wedding and it was a big hit. It gave people a chance to have 1 place to meet.

If you have OOT guests, many of them have not seen each other in a long time. They get into an unknown town and wonder who else is there and how they can get in touch with people. This also gives them an opportunity to stay out as long as they want the night before the wedding. You make an appearance for about an hour and then leave. They party on! And you don't have to pay a thing for this, as it is informal. People can eat/drink if they want.
