About to ask priest to give me the full Mass--a little nervous.

I get so nervous when I am talking to the priest.

I originally wanted a full mass. But, my priest told me it won't be right if I don't go to church every sunday religiously...So, I back out of what I wanted and just told him, OKay...I will do the ceremony.

Now, My mom is gearing towards me getting the full mass. She wants me to have the full blessing... I am just alittle nervous..to talk to him, later on today.

Did, any of your priest deny you the choice to choose between a full mass or a ceremony?

I think the priest will be happy to do the full mass. You could always start going to church on Sundays, and maybe you will feel better about it...

At first they thought maybe we shouldnt since I am catholic and FH was Episcopalian so we didnt book it that way. We went back the following day and switched and it wasnt a problem. They just recommended at first that we didnt since he can't receive communion (but that was the monsignour who we originally booked it with - the other younger priests do not mind at all).

Our priest told us the same thing in the beginning, but that it was ultimately our decision. We told him right away we wanted a full mass, but if we changed our minds we'd let him know (we ended up having a full mass). Just make sure you're telling him it's your decision and not your mom's. My priest went into this whole thing about separating from your parents when my husband mentioned that it would make his mom happy.

Not sure what your mom means by the full blessing, but we had a ceremony and actually had 2 blessings - the Nuptial and Final. The ceremony still consists of readings, homily, prayer of the faithful and the vows.

Good luck

Thanks Ladies..

I wanted to have the full Mass from the very beginning...and He talked me out of it. I can't wait till i talk to him.

Thanks for the advice...........Ladies..

Both FH and I are catholics and went to catholic school all our lives....why not do it the right way in the church having all the full sacraments..........(that is what I mean with all good blessings). I am not to familiar...with what the full mass entails...but...i think...he mentioned...that it will have the eucrharist (sp)..I am not sure,

BUT I want to do it the right way. Thanks Ladies
