Hi everyone. This is my first post (the first of many I'm sure!) and I could really use your help. I'm almost certain I'm going to book the Royalton for my 2008 wedding, and I wanted to get some feedback about what I should ask before I sign anything. Especially helpful would be any input from other Royalton brides (or even just people who've checked the place out). I'm paranoid about forgetting something and having it come back to haunt me later. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Re: About to book the Royalton...
I don't really know anything about the hall you are looking at, but I will suggest that you make sure EVERY detail that you've discussed with them is in WRITING!
The BM we were dealing with left unexpectedly, and we had to have a meeting with them to iron out all of the details that weren't in the contract.

Re: About to book the Royalton...
I'm a Royalton bride-to-be...
A few issues that I think are important to consider.
1. You can only choose between two florists - Stefans or Spitz & Peck - unless of course you use the buy-out option which we were told is $3,000. That means you pay them $3,000 to use a different florist. I sort of wish we'd made a bigger stink about it before we signed the contract. Stefans and Spitz & Peck are decent, but we're finding now that we wish we would have had other options.
2. If you are getting married in the evening on a Saturday, find out if they will be booking another party the day of your wedding. You may be able to work it into your contract that they cannot book another party during the day. If not, make sure you can get into the bridal suite as early as you need to be there. There is a LIW bride who found out at the last minute that she couldn't be there as early as she wanted to be. They told me that I could be there as early as 1:00 pm for my 7:00pm ceremony.
3. Size. Anything over 220 people will probably be tight.
Overall, we have had very good dealings with both Gerard and Michael and I've heard nothing but raves about food, atmosphere, etc. You're making a great choice!
