About to kick BM out of wedding one month away--PLEASE HELP
Girls - I really need your help on this decision that I have been agonizing about. My wedding is in less than one month.
I have been friends with 'Jane' on and off since second grade. We were very close in high school and college. After college, we didn't speak for an entire year. Although Jane has always been a good friend to me, she is a pathological liar and extremely critical of everyone. Since we have become friends again we have never been as close and see each other only a few times a year. I agonized over whether I should ask her to be in my bridal party. Knowing how she is, I knew that she probably assumed that I would ask her and would be extremely hurt if I didn't. I also hoped that this would be a chance for us to spend more time together again.
Suffice to say she has been a horrible bridesmaid. She has yet to do one thing for my wedding. She has been unable to attend any bridesmaid get togethers and has never even seen the gown. She was 'too busy' to get measured when the bridal salon was two minutes from her office. She had to fax me her measurements. She has managed to book her schedule so full that she has NO weekends free. WHen I suggested that I was thinking of not having the rehearsal dinner the night before - the only night she 'reserved' - she sent me an 'etiquette' article on when the rehearsal is appropriately held. My surprise bridal shower was this past weekend. I had attempted to make plans with her and she said she would be 'away for a wedding in another state.' She did not show up for my shower on sunday but, on SATURDAY night, my bridesmaid bumped into her at the U.S. Open when she was supposed to be away. She then proceeded to complain to my other bridesmaid about how much 'work' my wedding was and how I was 'ruining' two of her weekends for my bachelorette party and rehearsal dinner even though she has yet to do one thing AT ALL for this wedding. Not only did she not attend my shower but she has not even called me to apologize or ask how it was....I have not heard from her at all! She has also proceeded to critixize everything I have done thus far, including my invitations which everyone else has raved about.
I want to call her, and tell her what a liar she is and tell her that she doesn't have to worry about her ruined weekends anymore because not only is she not in my bridal party but she is no longer welcome at my wedding!
AM I HAVING A BRIDEZILLA MOMENT? Please help. I am ready to call her tonight![]()
