How many ab excerises do you need to do to see results? How many reps? Does anyone have a good ab workout?

Re: ABS
I swear by the Denise Austin ab video, its old (from the 80's) & its about a 12 min. workout, but if I do this daily in about 4 weeks I see good results.....to my abs and waist

Hee hee - I have this video!!! I used to do it religiously. I can still hear Denise's annoying voice in my head, 'Tighten that tummy!'
You don't need to do hundreds of crunches or any other ab exercise in order to get an effective ab workout. You can work the abs just like any other muscle group. Pick 3 exercises and do 3 sets of however many reps fatigues the muscle. And as with any other exercise, make sure you're really contracting the muscle (squeeze and hold) and using proper form. The ab exercises that use the stability ball are great and you'll really feel them. Pilates will also really get your abs and core muscles in shape; if you can do a class or buy a DVD, I would incorporate that into your ab routine.
