ACK! Another fear planted into my head (esp for holiday weekend brides)

I've just started getting responses and my sister said 'I hope people realize it's Father's Day and don't realize it a week before and cancel on you.'

Will this happen?

no....my bff is getting married that weekend OOT and i'm moh and it's not stopping any guests from coming she said.

it's not like it's mothers' day - fathers' day is way more laid back hahahaha.

FH and i debated on this weekend. we're getting married on that friday but we figured ppl wouldn't really do anything until sunday.

i went to a wedding on mother's day and it was fine. we did stuff w/ my momma afterwards. ppl will be there for u!

Honestly....they get another Father's Day next year!!!!!!....don't stress it. I really can't see people responding no, or cancelling bc of Father's Day (unless MAYBE they are new daddy's and it's their first one...even so...what better way to celebrate than a HUGE party thats all about love?!). Hopefully it won't be too much of an issue for you.

I remember thinking that when we booked (we're the day before Father's day). At this point, nothing we can do about it, so try not to worry yourself.

I will be going to a wedding on father's day and told my dad. He is fine with it. I will hang out with him the day before. I think it is not a big deal and people will understand

I don't think it's an issue at allll. A wedding happens only once, father's day is every year lol. Besides, it's not like the wedding is an ALL day thing for anyone else but you and your bridal party and family. most guests can still have breakfast with their dad, or celebrate the day before. I think it's a WEAK excuse if anyone canceled close to your wedding because of that.

i wouldn't worry about it! it's a sunday so if they really want to see their dad's they can see them before or after your wedding! don't sweat it!

We are ON Father's Day. Which is a little odd since I don't speak with my dad and FFIL passed away last year, but it's our 12th dating anniversary, so it's a date that has a lot of meaning for us.

I think some people might not come bc it's father's day. i know a few people for whom it's the first, so I can understand that. I'm more worired about people responding yes and then realizing a week before 'oh crao it's father's day, i can't go'

i guess one good thing is that since it's a baptism day at my church we had to have the ceremony late 0 4:30, so people have plenty of time to take their dad's out to brunch, etc.

The people who are coming from OOT are like, entire families, so their dads will be at the wedding. The only problem is the spouses I guess, and the fact that the kids are not invited.
