I wasn't impressed with them. I went to a showcase and their pictures were real nice, but when I went for an appointment, they seemed very unorganized and they couldn't answer my questions. I went with Gray Studios in Floral Park, they were a little more expensive, but my proofs came out terrific.

I did meet with them and thought they were very nice. We just found someone who was a bit cheaper and included a second photographer doing B&W for no extra charge.

Stef28... Do you mind me asking who you used? And approx what the cost is? I`m trying to make a decision now for a photographer and am finding them more expensive than I originally thought. Thanks!

Sure, no problem. I am using John Pagano from VIP Studios in Pt. Jeff. He works out of his house. But he showed us many of his pictures and I like the work. He does a lot of un-posed pictures, and brings a second photographer for just B&W candids. He also has a person to do video. He showed us a sample tape, and I thought it was great. I think we are paying about 3,000-3,300 and that is for both the pictures and video. PLus you get all of your proofs, like 300-400 pictures. He has packages but he's very flexible. LIWeddings user LEYANNE is also using him. Let me look on this site and find his number in one of my old posts. Feel free to ask me anything else too. -_Stefani

Thanks for the link Michelle. We also went to ADA and Park Avenue. Park Avenue was the house photographer for our reception site. They werew way too pushy and way to expensive for us. And John did seem to have the best deal. But the B&W was the main thing for me. And I really thought his photos were very nice.

Park Avenue -- Michelle
Michelle, I thought Park Avenue had wonderful work. I reall loved their pictures, it was more of a personality thing and also the price, and they don't include proofs until their top packages.

no proofs..i dont understand that..what are these people going to do with proofs from our wedding..i just think that is bad service on their part, trying to make an extra buck or something..so silly. thanks for the report.

Hal Lyman...
We ended up not meeting with him for a couple of reasons. Before we went to NY he called twice a week asking if we need a photographer. Meanwhile we already had an appointment with him. Then when we got back till this day he still calls and ask if we need a photographer. The wierd thing is, is that when he would call me here in North Carolina, the next day he would call my mom on Long Island and ask the same thing. My mom would also tell him we already have an appointment and that we just spoke to him 2 days earlier??? I don't know but if he can't remember calling me or my mom any of those times, then I could not trust him to show up at our wedding. Extremely unorganized. He might have nice work, but he definitely is in way over his head in appointments.

funny you say that..b.c he has been driving me crazy..if i call with a ? he is like you wanna set up an appt. then when i made an appt. he asked me for my # here in CA..and my # on LI..i gave it to him..thinking he would need it incase he has to cancel or something..i told my FI that he already annoys me a bit...but I do know that he is not the photographer so..if we see work we like..we will see.

Hal Lyman...melissa
Are posting about Hal Lyman or ADA? I met with Hal we was nice but didn't feel he was right for us. His work was good he just needs to brush up on his salesmanship. He left too much in the drivers seat to us. I didn't have any follow up problems with him at all. I was considering contacting ADA but if their customer service is that sloppy I surely will not rely on them for my photographic needs
