Adding a corset to a gown?

Has anyone done this? currently my dress zips up but i think i want the flexibility of a lace-up back. anyone else considering this option? good results? is it extremeley expensive? Your thoughts are appreciated...i want to do it but i'm afraid of hacking up my gown.

I'm sure that a good seamstress could do this, ask around.

I think she means having the dress altered to have a corset back instead of a zipper.

You can ABSOLUTELY so this...how it is...I don't know!

Be very careful changing the dress to a corset, changing the dress may change the way the dress lays and make it sit differently. PLEASE make sure that the seamstress is confident that she CAN do it without making the dress look funny. I had to have my dress taken out 2' and it screwed up the whole look of my dress.

Good Luck
