adding to venue package?

adding to venue package?

lately i've been talking to other brides and i definitely feel like i'm not getting as much for my money as brides at other venues, and i'm massively depressed about it, especially because i have a huge italian family who eat and eat and eat and are going to be expecting a boatload of food and especially shellfish, which we don't have in out package. i'm panicking and getting very upset...do i have any option here? the contract has been signed for months and we definitely don't have ANY money in out budget to increase the package, we're over budget as it is...i don't know what to do but i'm definitely having buyers remorse...any suggestions, ladies?

is there anything in your package that you don't really NEED that you could trade out for shellfish?

My hall originally had a 'bread and cheese station' in the cocktail hour. I swapped that out for additional butlered horderves, because i felt like my guests would prefer those...

My only suggestion would be to talk to them about. I'd be very honest and say youre on this site, etc and what you've found and that you've posted about it. I'd be really miserable and dramatic about it, but I'd sit with someone and see what they were willing to do for me. They know whatever the outcome is, that you're gonna come back to this site and post about it. And, you know what, if I was a bride looking and I saw this post and you kept posting about this and received absolutely no help from them- then I wouldn't be inclined to book there. Who likes bad press?

im sorry you are feeling this way
i dont know if there is much you can do considering you signed a contract already. Unfortunately each venue does their own things in terms of food choices, amount of options etc. you can tell them you are interested in other things but i do think they will charge you for any additions.

I think you should take a step back, review the paperwork of what the venue includes and remember what it is about the location that you loved and why you booked with them. it doesnt matter what other girls will or wont have at their wedding...this is your wedding and people should not be comparing. remember this site has a ton of ladies with all different financial situations and you cant compare your wedding to theirs....if i did that i would be majorly depressed!!! i wish i could afford to have a $5,000 dress, or to add certain options to my menu but its just not in the budget.

if you have one or two items you think you def want (like seafood) perhaps look over your contract and see if there is something you are willing to give up for the seafood and speak to your venue. it cant hurt to ask
