Did everyone put the Apartment number below the street addresses? Or on the same line as the address?
My mother is convinced that the PO wants the Apt number on the same line as the street or even BEFORE it. She said PO reader goes from bottom to top and that is why I can't put apartments below the street address like I want to. Is this right????

I always put apt #s below the street address when I send anything out. And I send TONS of stuff out for work.

Technically, if you go by post office rules, it should be the same line
that being said, I used to always put it on the next line and I like the way it looks better

I always address it on the same line as the street. I live in an apartment so that's the correct way to address. If you address line is too large then I would move the apartment part to the third line.

if you go on the post office website and type the address in it will standardize it for you. i believe mine are on the same line.

It doesn't go on the next line!!!! This is as per the Post Office!!!!! It goes on the same line.

Judy Paulen gave us instructions for addressing our envelopes and recommended that if you do it on the same line, to do it:
35 Madison Avenue, 5D
or
35 Madison Avenue Apartment 5D

I agree. I think we always get invites with our apt. below but since I currently can't prove that to my mom, she is saying I'm wrong! Oh well, doing it my way and will put apartment below.
