Addressing Envelopes

How do you address an envelope to a couple that is: (sorry I know this has probably been posted)

engaged?
living together?

Is it for engaged:

Mr. John Smith and Mary
or

Mr. John Smith and Fiancee

or

Mr. John Smith
Ms. Mary Jones

for living together:

Mr. John Smith and Guest

or

Mr. John Smith
Ms. Mary Jones

Thank you!

Re: Addressing Envelopes

I am doing Mr. John Doe and Ms. Jane Smith if they are engaged and living together.

imho, you should find out the name of the fiance (first and last). i always get insulted when an invitation comes to my fh without my name on it.

I have to just mention, I have gotten a few which I thought was weird, with just my first name.

Thank you to the brides who responded so far!

I did Mr. ___ and Ms. ___

For friends and family that we are really close with, I asked (if the couple was only dating) if that person wanted the others name on the invite, and also what the full, correct spelling of their name is.
It bothers me when we get invited somewhere and either just one of our first names is on the envelope, or it's spelled incorrectly. But that's just me. : )

I don't think anyone shoud get offended if the invite said 'and guest' and your name wasn't on it... maybe people feel arkward asking what your full name is... especially if people are dating you may get an 'and guest' b/c not all relationships last forever and things could change before the wedding...

1. Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Doe

Use this for both living together and engaged to be married!r

if you are engaged to someone, your name should be on the invitation, especially if the invitation is coming from his family. that happened to me, except they onl put my first name LOL! i do not think it is appropriate to write 'and guest' when you know someone is engaged. JMHO.

I am doing this too, unless the names are super long, and then it will be like this:

Mr. John Smith
Ms. Jane Doe

or

Ms. Jane Doe
Mr. John Smith

depending on who is the 'primary' person.
