Addressing Envelopes - Apartments

How do you address the envelope for an apartment?

Is it:

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
Apartment #12
44 Sun Road
No Where, AZ 444444

Thanks!

I hope others reply to this b/c I am curious too! I think the way you posted is proper ettiquette (sp?), but I have been drawing the line sometimes on ettiquette.

I think it is more like this:

Mr and Mrs So-and-so
123 Main Street
Apt 2
Town, State, zip

I think the apt goes after the street.

I wasn't sure about that, before or after. ANd it should be spelled out though, right?

In the US it's

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
123 Smith Street
Apartment 456
City, State Zip

If sending to say London it's

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
Flat # 123
456 Smith Square
London EB1Z 5WE

It makes more sense to address it as in the London example since it gets to the correct country, then the correct street, then the correct apartment/flat & then the right people

No, you're right. I should have spelled out 'apartment'

You're right - it does make more sense the British way:).

I'll probably change it though and do it the other way.
