addressing invitations

How should I address them?

Mr. & Mrs. _______

or

Mr. and Mrs. _________

Also, are the inner envelopes addressed the same way?

Thanks.

Re: addressing invitations

spell out the word 'and'

The inner envelopes can be how ever you want them to be. For our close friends and family we just wrote their first names like 'Bob and Jane'

only use & if using a calligrapher who will make it look nice (or if you are printing them out)

either is fine.

INNER:
can be any way....

Mr. and Mrs. ____________

John and Barbara Jones

Uncle John and Aunt Barbara

depends on the feel of your wedding and your closeness to the guest.

I did 'and' on the outer and '&' on the inner I think, because it was more casual.

What about if the couple isn't married but you're mailing it to one address (even if they don't live together)?

Should it be:
Mr. Bob Smith and Mrs. Sue Jones ??
