If you are addressing an invitation to a couple who has a son living with them that is 15 how do you address it. I know that when someone turns 18 they get their own invitation.
say it is like this
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smith
the son is 15 and is Mr. Henry Smith
how would you address it. I have looked around and it seems to me that you don't include them on the envelope. We are only doing outer envelopes not inner ones too.
TIA

Re: addressing invitations
If inner and outter
Only Couples name on the outter Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Inner... couples name then childs first name on the line below it Mr. and Mrs. Smith Christopher
If only an outter it says just to put Mr. and Mrs. Smith
but i didnt like that so i put
Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Family OR Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Christoper

yeah I only have an outer and I don't like the idea of leaving someone out. Would I put it on the same line or below it.

Re: addressing invitations
Oh.. it says to write..
Mr.Christoper Smith on the second line address him properly
This is a great site with how to do it...
if you scroll down they give a few examples of how to address single envelopes.
in response to writing the childs name on a seperate line if there is more then one child they are each supposed to get their own lne.. so i made the cut off one child if theres more then one. it was And Family!

Re: addressing invitations
For families that had kids under age 21 we put...
Mr. & Mrs John Doe Mr. _____ Doe
That was how the calligrapher told us it was supposed to be written. However, if it's a VERY small child. I believe 12 or under, then it is addressed:
Mr. & Mrs John Doe Master _____ Doe

Re: addressing invitations
I was going to say 'and family' to make it easier on you, but come to think of it we got an invitation last year that my parents name on top and then my name on one line and my sisters on the next, both with 'ms.' in front.
