Addressing Invitations.. Help

My mother and I are disagreeing....

We are typing out addresses to print the on the envelopes (for my engagement party)

Which way should it be....

Mr. And Mrs. John Smith
Mr. & Mrs. John Smith

Do we write out....AND...?
or write ...&.....?

I think it looks stupid to write out AND

which is right?

I wrote out 'and' for mine....

ETA: I had the same issue when doing my envelopes, so I did a little internet research and all of the sites I saw said to write out the 'and' here's one: CLICK

you should write out 'and' it does look better...and sometimes, depending on who's writing it, '&' can look bad/weird.

try this link for your questions....it is VERY helpful

artistic addressing

eta- and you would write it 'and' not 'And'

For e-party invitations, I honestly don't think it matters, but for the wedding invites themselves, 'and' should be spelled out.

BTW... does anyone know of an easy way of putting all the addresses on your comp and printing them ont he envelopes (we don't want to use labels)

I'm using word but it seems complicated. It seems like i'll have to do each individually.

you'll have to print indiviually possibly, but if you have the addresses in Excel, you can use the mailing options in word to create them.
