Addressing invites

Addressing invites

How do people plan on addressing invites to a whole household? Can you just do:
'Mr and Mrs. _____ and Family'
or do you have to write out each family member's name? I never realized how complicated addressing invites would be!! TIA!

do you have inner envelopes? if so then you can put: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Smith on outside envelope then on the inner envelope do Mr. Tom smith and Mrs. Anne smith and then you can list the kids underneath by name

if you dont have inner then yeah you have no other choice...but if you have an inner its good bc this way you can list those invited and what the inner envelope is for.

I never even thought of that. I was just going to address them as The _____ Family. Am I wrong in doing this?

I agree with Denise about the inner and outer envelopes. I do not have an inner envelope and plan on writing everyone's name that is in the household.

Mr & Mrs. John Doe
Mr. Robert Doe
Mr. Christopher Doe

This is how I did my e-party invites... but I think it's not considered 'formal' enough for wedding invites. I think you should do what makes YOU happy... break the rules of the 'book'
