Addressing Invites

Addressing Invites

When addressing the envelopes for your wedding, are you planning on using your guests' birth name or nickname? I feel like since it's a wedding and a very formal event I should be using their formal names, but then I feel a little weird because they don't really go by that name, they go by their nickname.

For example,
Nick vs. Nicholas
Connie vs. Concetta
Sal vs. Salvatore
Jay vs. Jason

I will be using their formal (birth) names....I don't like the way Val and Dan sound on wedding invitations.....

OK great, I am glad you guys agree with me!!
I feel a little funny asking people what their real names are though lol, but I definitely want to do it this way.
