Addressing invites-DIY

Is anyone just addressing them by hand themselves, instead of calligraphy?
I read on a different board that the calligraphy can slow down the mail, since the automated readers have a tough time.
That plus the fact that I am clearly behind makes me wonder should I at least just do some on my own. I have actually been trying to learn calligraphy, but I am kind of lame at it. But is there anything wrong with just a hand written address.
My invites are so pretty, I am worried about hurting their feelings.

Handwritten is 100% fine and a very nice personal touch that you are considering to do that.

I personally do not have the best writting so I am going to attempt to DIY printing envelopes on computer

Totally agree that it's absolutely positively fine to handwrite them. I might also if my printer doesn't cooperate.

It is soooo ok to handwrite them. I did ours on the printer using the fonts that were on the invitation. I thought they looked great!

What about computerized calligraphy? Ink Spun is very reasonable and you can email him the list if you live far from Westchester. My FIL's think I am crazy but I having my FH and best man drive there tomorrow to get them done. You can mail them, but I don't trust that. He can do them within a few hours, so you can make one trip. It is about 1 hr 15 min drive for us, each way. It is a lot quicker than handwriting them all, all though that is a nice touch. Too time consuming for me though.
