Re: Addressing invites for Doctors
According to Crane's website:
Outside Envelope: Doctor and Mrs. Troy Clayton or The Doctors Clayton or Doctor Christine Clayton and Doctor Troy Clayton
Inside Envelope: Doctor and Mrs. Clayton or The Doctors Clayton
I am sure I read in my ettiqutte book at home that it would be 'The Doctors Clayton', but I guess they are saying here that any of these alternatives are acceptable.....!
Good luck!

I did the same....Doctors Mark and Mary Smith. and for the couple with only 1 doc, I addressed it as Doctor and Mrs. Mark Smith.

Re: Addressing invites for Doctors
My mother is a doctor and lots of her friends are married doctors.
Anyway, most of her women friends take offense at Doctor and Mrs. John Doe, because essentially, it's losing a title they worked very yard for.
In followed Cranes in terms of invitation etiquette and, Doctors John and Jane Doe is incorrect , so we used The Doctors Doe for these couples.
Though I will add, that I don't really think that ANYONE (including said doctors) will know that Doctors John and Jane Doe is incorrect, because who on earth reads the Cranes Blue Book of etiquette, besided crazed brides anyway?

If wife is a doctor & the husband is not, is it Mr. and Dr. Doe or is it Mr John Doe and Dr. Jane Doe

I had a married couple that were doctors and I addressed it 'The Doctors Doe' on the outside and inside envelope.

Re: Addressing invites for Doctors
I *think* that if that's the case you either do Mr. John Doe and Doctor Jane Doe, or just Mr. and Mrs. John Doe and drop her title completely. oh well. Can't find anything on it online, in terms of what's 'correct'

Re: Addressing invites for Doctors
With my sister we did this
Mr. X and Dr. Y Smith
She is very low key about her title and doesn't get offended if things are addressed Mr. and Mrs. but we always do Mr. and Dr.
