I'm so torn. We didn't want to fork out the money for a calligrapher, I was going to try it myself but I'm not sure. I would only need the main envelope addressed. . . .
If you did calligraphy or computer calligraphy, do you mind sharing how much you paid per envelope and how long it took to get them back?
Thanks SO much!!!!!!

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
I did computer calligraphy with michelle from ez calligraphy. I don't want to post the pricing but I'll FM you with it in a little bit. Honestly, no one was able to tell the different whether the envelopes were hand calligraphized (yes that's my own word) or done by computer

calligraphized? is that a technical term
TIA for the FM! I wanted to do them myself (I was teaching myself calligraphy) but I don't think I'm that good at it haha

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
We did computer calligraphy I guess, but we did it ourselves. We printed directly on the envelopes, not on labels. We used the font Brock Script from dafont.com (downloaded free). HTH!

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
I had them printed at work. I just wanted them mailed by that point and getting them done by calligraphy artist would just take to long.

I will be doing computer calligraphy. My aunt's really good at that stuff, so she will be helping us with it bigtime.

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
The place that did the invites also did Computer Calligraphy. It was $1.00/ invite and it took about 3 days to get back.

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
I had computer calligraphy and it cost $1 per set (inner and outer envelopes). I used Cynthia from Follow your Heart in West Islip...they just became vendors on here
Edited to include that turnaround time was 2 weeks from start (emailing her the guest list) to finish.

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
Can one of the girls who got hand calligraphy FM me with pricing and turnaround time?
I'm not getting my invites until end of August, so I'm nervous I won't have enough time anyway

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
I printed my own. I downloaded scriptina and my envelopes look like calligraphy. I just finished them today.
I used scriptina for the names and copperplate gothic for the address. They came out really really nice. Everyone is complimenting them =)
I can show you pics later if you want. O yeh and I feed them thru the printer

Re: Addressing Invites (Poll)
I saved my sister over a $100 by telling her that I would do them for her....I am either going to print labels or print directly on the envelopes.
For those who don't want to do it themselves, my sister sent me this link yesterday....
http://inkspun.com/index.htm
39cents per envelope....instead of the $1 or more 'calligraphers' charge. The one my sister received a quote from wasn't all that great anyway...it was very shaky looking and not worth the money.
