Addressing Question

You've been friends w/ John Smith for a long time. He is now living with Mary Jones, who you are very friendly with. How do you address invite?

Mr. John Smith & Ms. Mary Jones

or

Ms. Mary Jones & Mr. John Smith?

Does the woman go first even though you're not as close??

TIA

Unfortunately the man goes first even if you don't know him. I don't like this and am thinking of ignoring the rule.

I really would have thought it would have been the woman going first.

Re: Addressing Question

i dont really see why it matters...

some couples i refer to the woman first some i refer to the man... like dena and danny, or diane and jimmy... or pat and jackie... its just the way i say it so thats how i would address it...

these rules are getting on my nerves

Re: Addressing Question

I would put your friend, John Smith, first.

You can also do it like this

Mr. John Smith
Ms. Mary Jones
1 Elm St
