So, I'm inviting my boss. My boss is a married woman, but I have never met her husband. Its feels weird to address the invite to mr. and mrs. Bob Gxxxx
Any ideas? I was think mr and mrs. Bob and Jane Gxxxx

Re: Adressing invites?
I think it should be Mr. And Mrs. Bob xx. But remember it is your day. What ever makes you happy. Plus who keeps the envelope.

Yes since you know the wife your boss I would do Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Diane Smith. That would be good.

As weird as it is that is the expected, I dont know if I would put both of their first names, seems casual to me. But as someone else said, its *****************!

Re: Adressing invites?
According to ettiquette, whether or not you know both people, it should still be addressed as:
Mr. and Mrs. John Doe

Re: Adressing invites?
Personally I dislike the Mr. & Mrs. Bob Smith ettiquette. We will be doing the following because technically it's correct and gives the woman her own identity - I would not be thrilled to get an invite with Mr. & Mrs. Bob Smith on it, so I won't be sending these out.
We're doing: Mr. and Mrs. Bob and Jane Smith

In one of the Wedding Planner's I have it says the outter envelop should be addressed Mr. & Mrs. Bob Smith and in the inner envelop you can be more personal and write
Jane Smith and Bob Smith

Re: Adressing invites?
I have a similar situation with one of my former co-workers whom I still talk to, however, I'm still putting Mr. & Mrs. John Smith to be formal.
