Re: Adriennes
I've been to the one in Manhattan and they were very nice. They have a wide selection of Jim Hjelm dresses and they have a bridal dress shop right across the street.
Edited to say that I am not sure if you are looking for a bridal gown or BM dresses. I went to the Adrienne BM store. They also have a store directly across the street that carries bridal gowns only.

Re: Adriennes
I went to the one in Manhattan a few weeks ago, and they had a nice selection of gowns (went for BMs) and the salesladies were nice and not intrusive at all. The only thing I would be aware of, is that a bunch of the dresses that we saw (and ones my girls and I really liked) were Badgley Mischka. Then, when I went to another store a week later (Wedding Library), I was looking at the same gowns and they looked different to me. Turns out Adrienne's did not have the most recent gowns displayed for this designer and the designer had changed the fabric this year which totally changed the effect. They didn't mention this at Adrienne's, so I would just double check on anything you might want before ordering.

I've driven past the one in East Islip but I have heard the salespeople can be rude.

I've never been there, but I have heard the salespeople are not the nicest @ the Islip one
