Re: adult ballet classes

Try your local dance studios (the ones that usually have kids classes), they often have adult classes, but don't advertise them as much. When I was hurt and couldn't handle the regular and competition classes at my dance studio (and besides I was an OLD LADY compared to these kids), I started the adult classes for awhile. It was mostly comprised of parents of the pre school kid who wanted to do it to keep fit, or who had always wanted to learn how to dance. I have one warning for you, these classes move very SLOWLY if you're already a dancer.

Also, check out local colleges. Not that this is anywhere near you, but for example, Molloy's Continuing Ed department offered a really inexpensive adult tap class!

Where are you?

I used to take classes at Amy Tyler School of Dance in Port Jeff. I think she used to do adult classes once a week or something.

There also used to be a studio in Stony Brook in the shopping center that has the Duane Read in it.
