I'm registering for them and I wanted to know if they are good bottles to buy? Thanks.

Re: Advent Bottles....
Not poking fun at grammar, but do you mean Avent? Or is there also a brand of bottles called Advent? If you mean Avent, I've heard nothing but good things about them and I registered for them as well.

Re: Advent Bottles....
As you will see everyone has very different opinions and experiences with bottles and it will just come down to what your baby likes. I hated the Avent and love Dr. Browns. From another post you will see that many hate Dr. Browns and love Avent.-D So my advice would be to register for whichever you think you would like to use, but don't open all of them..give one or two a try and see if baby takes them. Otherwise return them and try another brand. THat way you wont have 10 Avent bottles sitting in your cabinet, unused, with extra nipples like I do!

Re: Advent Bottles....
JMO but I hated the Avent bottles. They gave my daughter the worst gas pains. The second I switched over to the Dr. Browns she was a new kid.
I would register for both and try them - you may like the Avent better. Every child is different!

Re: Advent Bottles....
I use the Avent bottles and really like them. I would suggest trying a few different kinds to see which ones baby likes best.

Re: Advent Bottles....
We started out with the Avent bottles as well but switched after a month. I wasn't a big fan, they leaked IMO. Also, they gave my son a lot of gas. We switched to the Playtex Ventaire bottles. They are a PITA to wash because they have so many pieces BUT they were a lot better for his tummy and he drank more (and spit up less). On another note, most of the infants in my son's daycare use the Avent bottles.
Every baby is different, I'd suggest not buying a whole bunch of one kind of bottle, wait and see if your baby likes a certain kind THEN go out and buy more.
ddunne, I feel your pain, I have another 10 unused Avents sitting in my cabinet!

Re: Advent Bottles....
Avent bottles work best for me so far. I registered for a few different kinds and have now decided to stay with the Avent ones. At first they were a little fast for him and the Playtex Ventaire worked better but now I only use Avent. I dont like the Playtex Ventaire's at all any more and have a closet full of them myself. They are way too slow and he would get frustrated with them.

Re: Advent Bottles....
I hated Avent bottles. I could hear the bubbles entering my poor gassy baby's mouth everytime we used them. Also, they seemed to leak alot, which is a common complaint I hear about them.
ETA: I use the ventaire's for Tara and as someone mentioned, they have a few parts but not nearly as many as those damn Dr, Browns I used with Luke. I thought they were great but the parts were a PITA.

Re: Advent Bottles....
I really like these bottles. We tried a couple of others but these worked out the best and they are easy to clean.

Re: Advent Bottles....
I registered for Avent bottles, but then read bad reviews and changed to Dr. Brown's. All I can tell you is Angela never has had one gas pain in 7 months....maybe she wouldn't have had any problems with any bottle, but I have to vouch for Dr. Brown's since she did so well with them!

I used the Avent bottles and my daughter was very gassy, I switched to the Dr. Brown bottles and she is a whole new baby - much less gas!! I got the wide mouth bottles.

Re: Advent Bottles....
Dr. Browns are great. It was the only bottle Anthony would take in the begining. I found Avent to flow to quickly but now that he is older I switched to Avent. They are just so much easier to clean.
