Adventura Spa Palace Wedding

Adventura Spa Palace Wedding

I've really been considering a destination wedding lately. I was looking into the Adventura Spa Palace. They have great packages! Also I priced a king bed, Jacuzzi room for 7 nights all inclusive for $2415. I could realistically have my wedding and honeymoon for like $5,000! I'm just working on talking my FH into considering it. I'm thinking of doing the superior package. I really would like to have a nice L.I wedding but I don't know if I can justify spending ~$15,000 my wedding. Here are the wedding packages they affer. Tell me what you think! We might even be able to get married in 2008. If anyone can suggest other nice hotels to have my wedding at let me know! Thanks!

Would enough of your family and friends be able to do the travel?

If we do this, we know that we may only have a very small # of people coming if any. We may rent a VFW or KofC hall afterwards to have a party to celebrate when we come back. I would get a DJ that have TV screens where he could play my wedding video from the resort and we'd have our pictures in albums on a table for guests to look at. It just seems like we could save so much money this way. I probably wouldn't wear my wedding dress. I'd buy a nice informal wedding dress for the party. The package seems to offer a lot for the price. I probably would want to upgrade the photo package though. You can buy a CD with all the pics so you can do an album or enlargements.

we looked into this. we even went on vaca there. the reason we decided not to was b/c
1) after all was said and done we we're going spend around $15000
2) our grandparents wouldn't be able to come.
3) anyone under eighteen wouldn't be allowed.
feel free to fm w/? also i have pics in my album.

I wouldn't do it only because it seems like the package doesn't include a reception. I don't know if I would feel comfortable inviting people to travel so far to my destination wedding just to watch the ceremony and then not have a reception. Even having a dinner celebration for everyone after the wedding is going to be an additional cost. Also I wouldn't want my parents to stick around for the first few days of my honeymoon because I think destination wedding guests usually try to make the wedding a mini vacation for themselves. Also since you're going to have a reception when you get back you're not going to be saving as much money as you think. Even if you have it at a Knights of Columbus you're still going to have to pay for a DJ, centerpieces, maybe a photographer, and food. I would just have the reception at a Knights of Columbus and get a DJ, maybe DIY centerpieces, get a photographer with no albums and do them myself on shutterfly, cut the guest list down to 75-100 and get an inexpensive caterer and maybe do buffet. This is just a suggestion. If you really have your heart set on a destination wedding then do a little more research on other locations, you might be able to find a better deal that includes more stuff.

I highly recommend a destination wedding.

If you stay in LI you will most likely spend much more than $15k.
