Advice about my e-ring!!

I will give a little background about what's going on and then tell me what you think and what you would do!

So right after the holidays I brought my ring back to the jeweler because there was a diamond that kept falling out, they kept replacing it, but I wanted to get it fixed once and for all. So I brought it in the weekend after New Years, and they had it for 2 weekd. We finally go back to get it and we stand there for an hour and a half while they set the stone. We leave with it and we get home and start examing it and the center store is crooked and off center and there is black under all the diamonds on one side. IT looks like CR AP!! FH brings it back and they say they are sorry and going to fix it.. 2 weeks goes by again and he goes back and they did NOTHING! but claiming they fixed it. This time they say they are getting a new setting.. Ok 2 MORE weeks goes by and nothing no phone call, NOTHING. I call them and they said that it will be done by next Wednesday, I call not done. They call me the next day and it's done. I am so happy its been about a month and a half with no ring. I get it and it looks good!! I am so happy I leave. I get home and FH examines it, and thinks it looks good. Well 2 days later a stone falls out. I am annoyed but I am going to wait to go back because I can deal with this little diamond falling out. (you have to stare at the ring to see it) Well today at work i tap my ring with my finger and the center stone is LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even know what to do any more!! PLEASE HELP!!! FH is freaking out!!!!

I think it's worth your money to go to another jeweler....

First of all, you NEED a NEW JEWELER!!! Is this guy a family member or something? GO SOMEWHERE ElSE!!! This is ridiculous!!!!

Actually, that's about it. I'm not sure what else you could do.....

I know a great jeweler but they're way in Rockland County... I know there are other girls on here who can recommend one closer..... Are you on LI?

I know we need a new jeweler I hate this guy.. But i was going to him to get it fixed because I went to another jeweler and this is what they told me to do. FH was recommended by his sister to go there bc she gets all her jewelery there and has NEVER had a problem. I have another jeweler to go to. Should i just get a new setting and be done with the ring entirely??

this really ***** and i'm sorry you're going through this.

can anything be done with insurance if you have it? if not, make the guy refund you or something and def. take your business elsewhere.

i'd even go so far as to put a complaint into the BBB

it's up to you if you want a new setting. It sounds stupid, but maybe get a few 'second opinions'... If you have another jeweler to go to, then definitely do it and see what he has to say. Tell him the problems you've been having and what you're considering. If he is a good jeweler, he will LISTEN to you and give you honest advice..... This is not just some random pendant or something. This is an important piece of jewelry.

Also, my jeweler has a window into the repair section so that I can SEE what he's doing when he's fixing any of my jewelry... If you can find a guy like that, you're golden. They should not have your ring for 2 weeks anyway.... And if they do, you need to take that center stone with you..... Have you had it appraised already before these disasters?

I hope I'm not scaring you, btw

1. Go to a new jeweler

2. Get it appraised and make sure they didn't replace any diamonds.

I'd bring the sister---if she's a repeat customer, she should be able to let them know that she will take her business elsewhere unless the fix everything one final time. Our jeweler is FH's mother's jeweler for years and would never want to lose a customer like that.

FH actually went with his sister twice and it doesn't seem to get the job done either.

omg ITA! u should've have to put up with this anymore, it's ridiculous! go to a reputable jeweler who will replace the stone WHILE UR THERE and make sure u check that the diamond in ur ring now are the exact ones u had when u first brought them the ring

I was going to ask if the sis got involved. If she has and they still haven't done right by you, go elsewhere.
