I'd just like to share my opinion and offer advice to those of you who haven't bought your wedding dress yet. Please, please, please do NOT go to Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. It was an absolute nightmare working with that company. My wedding dress didn't come in until 3 weeks before my date and I really think if I hadn't gone there in person and practically harassed them...who knows what would've happened. Basically everytime I was there I heard others horror stories. It's not right that they get away with all the things I heard about. They have terrible customer service and no one should have to go though what I and all these others went through. Even the employees were yelling at each other in front of customers. There's a ton of places to buy a dress...go elsewhere and save yourself the hassle.

Thanks for the warning. I have heard similar stories from way too many other people that I already knew I wouldn't be going there.
FSIL went there for her dress, all the BM dresses, and MOB dress and everybody couldn't have been more pleased with them. Granted, this was back in 2009. It's too bad that some people have had such bad experiences with them.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not going there because they have horrible reviews on google too. Sorry to hear about you experience.

I'm sure some may have positive experiences, but from what I experienced and what I've heard, it seems practically 99% negative. Just a heads up :)

To add onto this, they are way overpriced. The gown I purchased I found at paradise and the price was $1400 plus an extra $400 for plus size. I ordered it from Bridal Elegance in Dix Hills and told them the price I was quoted and they were shocked. The gown I ordered was only available in plus size, it was the designers plus size line, so the up charging for that was ridiculous. I wound up getting the gown for under $900. That's a huge savings.

I agree with this. They quoted me $2400 for a dress when 2 other bridal shops quoted me around $1000 for the same exact dress.

Someone I know ordered BM dresses from there and they didn't come in until the Monday before her Friday wedding!! Talk about stressful.

I had a horrible experience there with my engagement party dress. It was a short wedding dress from there. They are a bunch of LIARS and I would never give them ANY business ever again!

I purchased a BM dress from there about 5 years ago and they were horrible! There's zero customer service there. My friends dress had lipstick on it when we picked it up!

I purchased my dress through them and now I'm getting nervous. I thought the customer service was excellent. They were the only authorized retailer of Maggie Sottero dresses from Queens all the way to Patchogue that would find the dress I was looking for. They were extremely nice to me while I was there. I'm only hoping it doesn't turn into a horrible experience.

I got my dress, MOB, MOG, all BMs and all the Tuxes there and so far I have nothing but good things to say... They have been beyond accomodating and nice to me.. As far as pricing goes, I price shopped everything and if their prices were higher, I just told them and they beat it by at least $10 (for the BM dresses). I'm really hoping this doesnt turn into the nightmare that you guys are describing..

i wasnt going to post on this thread for fear of jinxing it.. but now i feel i need to chime in! i wont read everyones posts!
i had an issue with alterations for a BM dress years ago. the bride did NOT have issues.
I swore i wouldnt go there for my dress... but i did. i wasnt goign to buy there.... but i did
i was super nervous, especially when they initially mismeasured me 3x.
my dress came it- it is almost a PERFECT fit! i just have to get some small alts.
I think what probably happens is that the head seamstress works on bridal and the others work on BMs. so we didnt get the BM dresses there.

I will say this...when I went dress shopping the lady that helped me was very nice...BUT after that it was totally down hill. I'd call frequently as your wedding date approaches. They told me my dress would be in in March (I ordered it the previous May) and it came in in mid-June for my July 4th wedding. I heard they hold your deposit until the last minute to order the dress so they can collect interest on it. This could be true or could be false, but there's no reason it took OVER a year to get a dress it.

i too have purchased my gown from there as well as MOB and bridesmaids. thus far they have been very accommodating. I purposely gave them a wedding date 2 months prior to my actual wedding to ensure they arrive on time/ early just because i have a few bridesmaids from out of states. so my dress will be here at least earlier than expected.

I ordered my wedding dress from Bridal Suite of Bayshore and they have been great so far. I feel the alterations are a bit much compared to what I paid for the dress but it seems that's the same or comparable for most. We did the bridal party tuxedos at Men's Warehouse and wasn't too thrilled that they didn't have anything for them to try on but we had to go with them snce we have out of state groomsmen so that store is out of state as well. Just took my Dad today to get his tuxedo rental at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. I have to say they did have stuff to try on to make sure they get the sizing right and they were more then helpful and came in about $60 cheaper the Men's Warehouse for the tuxedos. Hopefully when we pick up the tux the last week of August all will be good.

Don't worry, I ordered my dress from there and it came in with plenty of time. It fell off of me when I tried it on for the first time because I lost 30lbs and the seamstress made it look gorgeous and it fit perfectly.
My only issue was that I didn't know how expensive the bustle was going to be.
Don't worry and don't let a few negative reviews get you down. Everything will be OK!

Just FYI you don't HAVE to use Men's warehouse if you have out of state groomsmen. Most tux shops will take measurements over the phone or even online. They just ask that the person go to a local tux shop or tailor to get measured professionally.
