Advice giving aunts
Hi I am a proud aunt of a beautiful 18 month old little girl. My DH brother and his wife gave birth to a 10 lb 11 oz baby. They are a military family, so we don't see much of them, but they send me pics. From when the baby was 2 weeks old, my BIL sent a pic of the baby tasting a popsicle. I immediately emailed my BIL giving friendly insight on prolonging treats of a sugary nature, and he went on the defensive. Now at 18 months the baby is average height, and 30 lbs. She wears 3T, and they have to cuff all her pants because the waist fits, but they are too long. I was just with them last week, and was alarmed at this child's eating habits. All I heard was how much she loved peas, but I never saw any vegetable ever hit her plate. She ate a fun dip one day, I could not even watch, and one morning they surprised her with a slurpee. I never witnessed anything like this ever. All week I bit my tongue to say anything, but now I wonder if I should have. Maybe then it would have been brought to their attention, even at the cost if they are angry with me. i do not have children, so I would imagine that mothers must hate non parents giving them advice. thanks for all input!!!!!!!!!!
