Advice needed

Advice needed

How do I tell someone that I do not want to be there maid of honor? Heres the story:
I've been friends with this since highschool about 7 years now we were close and lately, within the past 2 years I guess we have grown apart. She is not someone who is there for me when I need her and I feel she is just asking me cause she has no one else...I really can't afford to be in it either because of my upcoming wedding and the money situation...What do I do? TIA

ETA- her wedding is july 06 she never formally asked me but i guess ive known for a few months. we havent picked out a dress yet or anything...

her wedding is coming up pretty soon... do you know if there is anyone else that she can ask if you cancel?

Well, she kicked out one of her BM's but there is another one that is her FI cousin....

it sounds like you already agreed to it... or did she just start assumming you would be it??

She just assumed. She never asked, I never really said yes either. We hardly even talk. She calls me once a month to tell me we should go dress shopping. She didn't even call on the anniversary of my brothers dealth...I think a true friend would do that..Nor did I get a call for my 21st bday....

I wouldn't even tell her the part about how you aren't close... just tell her that you are honored, but with your upcoming wedding you definitely do not have the funds to do this...you can tell her you'd def. like to come to the wedding, but as far as being in it, it's just not possible for you.
