Hey ladies I can really use some advice and other opinions right about now. On Friday, FH and I found out that we are expecting We were completely shocked!! Turns out my due date is Nov 16th and my wedding is scheduled for Sept 6th. Since I really don't want to be 7 months pregnant at my wedding we called our venue and were tld that Sunday June 16th is available or Sat July 27th. The issue is fh really doesn't want a Sunday wedding due to work issues and I'm afraid it will be too hot and i'll be too far along for July 27th. We were struggling with what date to pick from since nassau county's law is that if we cancel our date we only get refunded if someone else books it (which our entire venue is almost paid for so it would be kinda a large gamble...so we decided to still get married at the rh) One of fh groomsmen suggested we have a small wedding now (maybe at town hall or a VERY small beach wedding at fh's parents property) and switch our date for the wedding at Crest Hollow for 2014 exactly a yr from the day we get married this yr so we don't lose all the money we put down already. sorry this was soo long!! Any/all advice is greatly appreciated!!! I just need some wedding guidance lol thanks ladies I'm super excited to start our family but def want to be married before the little one comes

If you can't do a Sunday wedding then I agree with the GM about getting married at town hall now and then doing a one year anniversary big wedding.

I know someone who got married 5 months pregnant...she looked amazing and is glad she got married rather than putting it off...

Congratulations!!
If possible, I think it might make more sense to get married this year. Once your baby arrives you might not want to spend time wedding planning.
I think if you put if off until next year, you might never have the wedding you dreamed of and will lose money in the long run.
Getting married on your original date might not be so bad. Just get a larger bouquet if your going to be a little self-conscience.
Good Luck and Congratulation!!

BTW: If you change your date, you might lose money from your vendors if they are no longer available.

Congratulations. I agree that it may make more sense to get married this year if you still can.

Congratulations!!
I think the GM has a great idea, and it gets you the best of both worlds. You can get married this year, as planned, and celebrate with everyone (including your new addition!) when you can actually enjoy!
Good luck!

First off, congratulations!! What an exciting time for you two !
I love the idea of a small ceremony now and a big party on the one year anniversary. Especially is the majority of the planning is already completed. It may be a bit tough to iron out final details with a little one. (So exciting!)

:) congrats!!!! and as scary as it all is and crazy- keep your wedding....so what if you are 7 months pregnant- you can still have a good time...
last year- my friend who was dating a guy for just about a year found out she was pregnant, they got engaged, and had a small town hall wedding when she was 6 1/2 months pregnant- that i didn't even attend due to work- and she is my best friend... mind you- if you do a court house ceremony, it won't be a friday or saturday- they do them monday- thursday between like 10 & 2... so it is unlikely anyone will be there to see a wonderful marriage!!! to add to it, she was engaged the year prior had a huge ring and planned a huge wedding.... now...we have had 3 weddings in our group of friends since she has gotten married and i can honestly say she looks miserable at all them because she rushed into a marriage and didn't choose a wedding
you don't want regret- i say- so what you are pregnant- enjoy your day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and if you choose july- it is likely you won't have a huge stomach at 5 months so you would be able to feel a bit more comfortable!!!! Either way you choose i know you will have the support of your family but definitely don't give up your dream wedding!

Re: advice needed asap
first of all...... congratulations!!!!!!!
And I like the idea from one of your groomsmen. You can have a small ceremony this year with just your close friends and immediate family so that you are married when the baby comes. Then on the year mark have a big wedding reception at your venue so you don't lose your money, you can even renew your vows on that day exactly 1 year from when you were married and have a ceremony for that if you still want to.

congratulations! I definitely see pros and cons to both points. personally, I think most women don't show THAT much at 5 months, you're already in the midst of planning and the money is pretty much already allocated to a degree. Having a new baby puts a lot of extra financial strain - aside from the emotional and physical strain as well. I dont know if you will be in the right mind set in a year to do the big wedding.
I say you should go for July - you'll have the wedding you've been planning for all along BEFORE baby comes - and when he/she does come, you can focus all your time, money, energy on them!

I would either choose June or July. So what if it's a Sunday! You have a lot of things planned already. Finish it off and have your dream wedding early so you can focus your attention on your pregnancy and the little one who is about to come into your lives!
Good luck and Congratulations!!!

Congrats! I would also do it in June/July. I think post baby the wedding would be the last thing on your mind. It would also be a gamble with regards to vendors. Good luck! :)

Congrats! I definitely think you should go with June or July! I agree with the ladies above-- you may not even want a big wedding once the baby comes.
