I have an interview Wed morning at 31-07 20th Road.
I know nothing about Astoria? How is the area? Is it safe? Excuse my ignorance, I am from Westchester.

Re: Advice on Astoria
I was born and raised in Astoria I currently live in Flushing Queens. Astoria is a safe neighborhood. Very European (for the most part of Astoria) Although it has now become very yuppified-lol Lots of cool restaurants/cafes and ethnicity...would not be afraid to work there. BUT would also like to mention, that no matter where you go you will find bad. Be cautious as you should be on a daily basis.

Ditto to what she said. Definately don't be afraid to work there. I just Googled the address you put - I used to go to the gas station near there all the time when I worked there hah. Are you planning on driving or taking public transportation there?
There's also so many yummmmy restaurants on Ditmars which is near by there.
As Richiesgirl said - definately be careful as you would be anywhere else on a daily basis, but in general Astoria is not a unsafe area. I wish I still lived there!

You should leave extra time to find parking. Other than that I really like Astoria, great food.
