Advice on DJ companies

Hi everyone,

I am new to this and I am looking for some advice on different DJ companies.

I am booked at the Jericho Terrace in Mineola and they recommend a few DJ companies as well. as i speak with different people i'm hearing these companies the most:

Body Rock
Unique Entertainment
Tommy Tunes

I do not want to nor do I have time to go see 15 different DJ companies. I really want to know who is good and reasonable in price. What do you think ladies?

i recommend FM Entertainment- they had great prices and have a good rep on here based on brides reviews

Body rock I think overwhelmed me with options and seemed more pricey than I wanted to spend.

TT - I've been to a few weddings with them. The guy is nice I guess Tommy himself?? ... but I felt like they play the same songs all the time.... very predictable.

Unique... I know nothing about.

I booked High Voltage - very happy about them! Vinny the owner gives a great no nonsense look into DJs. Great Prices!!!

Xtreme Sounds in Woodbury had decent prices i think. I just didn't wanna book by meeting with only a receptionist. the owner couldnt' be there for my appt. HV beat them to the punch!

I've gone to see...like 4 companies.... I've heard great things about LI sound.... but they are on the pricier side.

Im booked with High Energy, definately reccomend them and they are very very reasonable.

Our second choice was After Hours. Really really liked them (Phil) but the price was a little high.

Fm Entertainment was very reasonable in price

Met with LI Sound, I wouldve been very confident booking them, been in business for a long time and very well known but they were out of our budget.

unless we could see that at a showcase, PERFORM at their location ( i know FM does this), or has clips on the web or DVDs to see their MCs in action, we did not consider them.

it was important for us to find an MC we liked --good energy but not too obnoxious, ya kno.

some companies didnt have any info to share, so they were knocked off the list. oh, and we didnt make appts until we saw ppl in action first!!

overall, i saw TT in action, FM at their studio, and After Hours gave me 3 different DVDs with all the different things they do (and they sent us links to see them online -- they have some clips of weddings on youtube). i saw LI Sound perform, but FH did not. I asked them to send me DVDs...but we recieved them after we already made up our mind.

hth....at the very least...you will save time by not seeing 3 trillion DJ perform.

GL!

I used Tommy's Tunes and lovvved them. They were amazing to work with and did a great job. I had Joe E as my MC and he had everyone up and dancing...he really kept the party going and I don't remember that he even took a break lol!!
