Advice on how to include...

Advice on how to include...

girlfriends that are not in the bridal party. I have four great girlfriends that I want to include somehow in the ceremony. I probably should have chosen them to be in the bridal party but there are reasons why I didn't.
FH and I already have readers so I am trying to think of something else.

I'm wondering if they would like to be asked to be ushers or to hand out the programs. Does that sound more like a chore than an 'honor' (for lack of a better word).

I was thinking of asking them to walk down the aisle. I want to write them cards letting them know how much they mean to me and how fortunate I am to have them in my life. What if they walk down the aisle as 'friends of the bride'. I'm trying to find something short of calling them honorary bridesmaids.

Sorry if this is confusing... but I could definitely use some advice.

TIA!

- Distribute programs
- Help you with DYI
- they can do a reading, sing, play music, etc...
- Help with seating guests (like bridal attendant).
- Acknowledge them in your program
Etc....

I agree with the others, maybe acknowledge them in the program or get them something special to wear to set them apart like a corsage, or ask them to do a reading

That's what we're doing for non-bridesmaids that we wanted to include

I wish we could do that...but we already have four other readers.

I like the corsage idea. But I'm trying to find a way to let them know now that they will be apart of the ceremony. I don't want them to think that they are not included somehow...
maybe i'm over thinking this.

totally think you are over thinking it.

You can't include everyone. You can acknowledge them on your own though...write them a card maybe. Leave it at their seat at the reception.

I didn't have any BM's but all my close girlfriends came and spent the night before the wedding with me. It was really nice. They also all came up to see me before the ceremony started.

Don't make yourself crazy thinking up things to create for them to do. Just let them be there for you. Tell them how much that alone means.

I should repeat 'what would laurie do?' to myself when i start to stress out.
