The more photographers I look at, the more I feel like I am getting confused. What is a good price considered for a photographer? Who is everyone using. We don't have a huge budget but I do want to make sure that the pictures are great.....advice please.

Re: Advice on Photographers????
I only went to 3 places before I booked and 2 were in Westchester (where I live.) The prices I saw were in the $5000 range and I didn't see anything I was all that impressed with. When I went to Duet I just loved their work, and prices, and booked them on the spot. The package I got has gone up in price since I booked and I believe it's $3700 for 2 photographers and 1 videographer, album, 2 parent albums and fully edited video. They also throw other stuff like thank you photos in and you get to keep your negatives- which most places either won't do or they charge A LOT.

Re: Advice on Photographers????
we are using Tom Weis. I did a lot of hunting online and met with a few photographers. For the price and quality I am hoping I picked a good one! I didn't want to pay more than $2500 (initially I didn't want to pay that much, but after shopping around my budget changed) and am also taking care of my own photo albums. Tom offers to do them for you but will also give you the negatives and let you create your own reprints.

Re: Advice on Photographers????
i used 12th night - they were reasonable and work with your budget too! i think you just need to meet with people and be straight forward about what you want, etc....get a feel for how they treat you and if you like them and their work, you know when you find your fit!!
good luck!

I'm using B rett M atthews. They're a little on the pricier side but are well worth it. Bethsiar and june262004 recently posted their BM proofs and they're gorgeous. Do a search.
UPDATED: We used BM and would NOT recommend them.
FM for details.

I'm using Patken. I'd say that price wise they are probably in the middle range. My package is $3800, but I added quite a few extras. Their pictures are great though well worth the price. IMO
