I got a proof for an invites. I made some changes and requested a new one. After about two weeks I sent her an email asking when I was going to get the new proof. She emailed me back that the graphic is no longer available and that she was very sorry. I asked if she had anything similar and she said that she didnt but would have her designers try to recreate it. after about another week I asked her how much longer and she assured me they would be in the mail by last friday. I havent heard anything since. I'm wondering if I should start to look elsewhere for invites or give her a little more time?

It wouldn't hurt if you tried to look elsewhere....maybe a different place would have that exact graphic you were looking for.

I would start looking.
As a graphic designer, I know how long it actually takes to re-create something. Especially something like a wedding invitation. You shouldn't be waiting almost 3 weeks and still have nothing.
Plus the fact that her graphic designer is no longer with them AND he/she took the files with them, means the person you are working with didn't want to pay them for their time.

She told me that she subscribes to sites with the graphic and the site took it down. She said it was only the 2nd time in four years that it happened:(

Can I ask what place you used because I'm having a similar issue. I've been waiting for my proofs for quite some time (about a month) and the girl keeps telling me that the company is having delays.

I'm using 'her' but my dad just called - apparently the proof came yesterday but no one took in the mail.
