advice please..kinda long

how would you handle this situation ....i work in a office with 12 other people including my boss, and i planned on inviting all of them w/ guests only if they are married ...3 of my coworkers have various issues in their personal lives ( separated , have been separated for years but got back together and is now pregnant) now in our office my boss does alot of staff parties where guest /spouses are invited well these 3 coworkers always say they are bringing a guest/spouse and my boss pays for them and they never show , or they bring a family member who nobody knows, or just some random friend in their spouse/boyfriends place. my boss has spent alot of money and has gotten screwed plenty of times ...now my dilemma is i really dont want to invite these coworkers with a date, because of the above reasons. what do i tell them? i know they are going to ask if they can bring someone even if i address the invite only to them. i cant really say well people who are married can come with their guest..because their argument is they are married ... i just feel like FH and I are spending alot of money we are paying for most of our wedding and we have people who are wanting to come people we know and care about that we may have to cut out of the list and there is a possibility that a few of my coworkers 'guests' may not show ..what would you girls do??

if you are inviting office people i think you can get away with just inviting them and no guest and explain how you want them there but with budgeting you can not invite them with guest....

they are not family they are not close friends they are coworkers i do not see why this would be unreasonable....
