affordable (aka cheap) curtains??

FH has cut me off from future home purchases until after the wedding (i go a little nuts with the decorating), but i'm looking around (shhh! don't tell him!) for curtains for my living room/dining room & my sunroom.

i would like panels with a texture of some sort (chenille, silk, velvet, something like that) in a cranberry color for the lr/dr. i'm looking for natural color (not quite white) cotton curtains (tab top probably) for the many many windows in the sunroom.

i love yabbobay's curtains from ballard, loooove smith & noble stuff, & also love PB curtains. however, my windows are very very wide & there are lots of them so i'll need quite a few panels (at least 8 for the lr/dr & a lot more for the sunroom). so, unfortunately i can't pay $100 per panel.

any recommendations for stores/websites with nice stuff thats still affordable (aka cheap)?

maybe JC Penney's? Not sure how good their selection is, but I have huge windows in my apt and wanted to get sheer swags and drapes - they were pretty cheap and have held up well.

There's a curtain place on Voice Road in Carle Place that had really inexpensive panels. I want to say it's called Murray's or something like that - but if you are heading South on Glen Cove Road make a right onto voice and it's on the right towards the end of that strip mall. I once got plain panels for $10 each and plastic mini blinds for $6 each.

Marburn's is cheap but for what you are looking for you might not find it there. I get all my curtains at JCPenney's, esp. if they have a sale, it is worth it and they aren't cheap looking at all and hold up very well. I order on-line as well and they come super fast. Good Luck!

Target sells some pretty nice stuff for cheap.

For $25 each. Not as thick as the really expensive kind but not bad at all.

I ordered curtains (panels and a scarf) from www.strouds.com last year - and I love them. They have a decent selection & pretty reasonable.
