Affordable catering receptions

I am trying to find a reception hall and have a tight budget. Can anyone tell me which halls are the most affortable. I will probably have a reception on Friday instead of saturday to save money. I will make my own flower arragements and have not tought about favors.

Timber Point Country Club. We were quoted an excellent price for a Friday night in Sept. but defintely consider an 'off' month like Oct-April. Good luck!

Also check out wedding world, the wedding center etc. They offer all extras (photo, video, limo. dj , invites, flowers) and that can be packaged for a smaller amount then going out on your own.

Try a few parks and marinas to see if they permit wedding ceremonies. Also the Knights of Columbus halls are reasonable. I like the one in New Hyde Park - but they're spread all over the island as well.

Prices tend to be lower everywhere from Jan-March.

Check out the Larkfield Manor.

We are having ours on a Sat. afternoon to save money. Its not want I pictured my wedding to be, but we were able to get the RH I wanted at a price we could afford.

Also, FBIL is getting married at Leonards and they got an amazing deal. Try that.

Good Luck.

Don't know where you live, but our wedding is at Tall Grass Country Club in Shoreham...very reasonable for October thru March. Just slightly higher for summer months....We're even getting a free chocolate fondue fountain.

Go to www.lessings.com, they cater for all the recpetion halls listed there and several of them start at under $65. pp. Around Christmas time I saw an add for them that advertized this.

Re: Affordable catering receptions

Affordable means different things to different people. From my own search (25 halls), I found that weddings from November-March were lower than the rest of the year. Saturday evenings are the most expensive regardless of the time of year. Catering halls that hold more than one affair at a time are less expensive than the one event at a time halls.

Places on the water are NOT cheap because of the view. Places that I consider to be affordable and on the water are: The Riviera in Massapequa, Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst, and the Beach Club Estate on Lake Ronkonkoma.

Jericho Terrace gave us a great price for a Friday evening in June! It would probably be even cheaper if you book in Dec-Mar. Give them a call!
