Re: Affordable HONEYMOON Destinations
it really depends on what you mean by affordable, but you can always check out PR, DR or Mexico (Cancun, Cabo, etc). Those are always affordable and close and you can always invest in the 'all inclusive' packages, so you don't end up spending too much during the HM.HTH

Re: Affordable HONEYMOON Destinations
This is actually something FH and I have been discussing at length for the last couple of days. His dad happened to get something in the mail today from goaheadtours.com. It actually sounds pretty amazing, but I don't know too much about them yet. I think it's worth looking into though. We've never been to ITaly, so if this is all ont he up and up and accomodations are good, it would be a nice way to do it so we're not going in blind. The do packages all over the world and the stuff seems really affordable. HTH

You can get cruises under that. Also try Mexico and Dominican Republic and even Jamaica.

Re: Affordable HONEYMOON Destinations
we got a great deal at sandals st. lucia - we are going for 7 nights + airfare for less than 4,000. We aren't staying in the best rooms though, just regular oceanfront.

We are going to Couples for 12 nights 13 days,. splitting our stay. Doing 4 nights at Couples Tower Isle in a junior suite, and 8 nights at couples swept away in a beachfront verandah suite for 5900 with airfare. You can i believe easily do 8 days there, and its all inclusive.

Re: Affordable HONEYMOON Destinations
i think that wouldn't be too difficult to plan. we are doing a mini-moon right after the wedding to Cancun. all inclusive and the basic room is really nice (re: jacuzzi tub that you can access from the room and the balcony). we are staying 5 night and the total including taxes and airfare is about $2500. you should be able to extend for a few nights at least and be close to your budget.check out your credit card points, the closer the destination, the more possible it might be for you to cash in some points. both FH and I got our flights for free!
also, go to a TA. you don't have to pay them and they will know where you can go for that budget that's nice for a honeymoon.
